This is a cheerful fairy-tale about a water-nymph from a forest well, a young potter and spooks from the marshes. Nymphie is a real live girl, an orphan who had been brought up by three bewitching aunties. Her aunties entrusted into her care a magic jug and with it the task to look after all the forest wells and springs. One day Jirka, a young potter, loses his way in the wetlands and he breaks Nymphies jug by mistake. He wants to make up for what he has done, but it is no simple matter to make a magic jug. He finally manages to create just such a jug with help from Nymphie and her bewitching aunties. Nymphie hands the jug over to the nymph named Dewie who becomes the new water-nymph in charge of forest springs, leaving Nymphie free to return into the land of humans with Jirka.
