The suspenseful dramatic story from the 1950s is all the more incredible for being based on a true story. “Operation Stone” really was a trap set up by the communist State Police, enticing people who wanted to emigrate from Czechoslovakia towards their fall. They were brought to a false State border, where they were duly arrested and taken to prison. Moreover the police wiled precious information out of them. It was all arranged in such a way, that not even after their imprisonment did the victims comprehend the principle of the trap. The main hero is a jazz pianist who unwillingly becomes part of this diabolic machine for a few months.
