The ballet Tchaikovski presented at Prague‘s National Theatre pays homage to this great Russian composer. Although Piotr Ilyitch Tchaikovski (1840-1893) attained fame during his lifetime, he was an extremely lonely man. In spite of his maariage and a lengthy relationship with a rich widow, but was actually gay and suffered such intense psychological problems on this head that he felt life hardly worth living. The which accompanies this ballet consists of music from Mozart, Offenbach and Czech composer Petr Malásek in adition to Tchaikovski’s own compositions.
