A documentary film about the life and work of the well-known Czech composer Bohuslav Martinů (1890-1959) who lived and created his music mostly outside Czechoslovakia. In the 1920s and 1930s he often visited from his adopted home in France, but never returned after the political changes of 1948. The documentary follows his life and compositions through France, Switzerland, Germany and the USA where the film-makers traveled to interview those closest to this world-renowned composer.
