The biologist and traveller Jan Dungel’s years of knowledge of the South American rainforest gave rise to the idea of reporting on the worrying changes in the Amazon and documenting natural areas that may be impossible to film in a few years’ time. He experienced places virtually unknown to the public, gained the trust of the Indian inhabitants, and is involved in monitoring jaguars and research into unknown wildlife. His expedition documented how the Orinoco and Amazon basins are connected. The three-episode travel and nature documentary series is a heartening account of projects carried out by scientists and locals to tackle the situation.
