Donna Strickland, Nobel prize in physics laureate

I have great faith in lasers but noone is putting one in my eye. Says Donna Strickland. But lot of people can see better thanks to her work. She played crucial role in development of the laser that millions of people had had their eyes treated with. And she was a PhD student at that time. Publishing her very first paper. And she won a Nobel prize in physics for that.
